I can be fine one minute, then limping the next. Sometimes it seems like a pinched nerve, other times like the joint is stuck. No matter what the pain for me, it radiates. I have been extremely lucky that my upper back isn't usually too bad, but my lower back is another story. Owie! It's another one of those things that can be fine one moment and excrutiating the next.....sometimes a sharp pain and often a huge dull/sharp pain at the end of my back/top of my butt. For me, motrin helps, but never makes it really go away. (wsm311@...) Guest guest
Hi, Beth. Sorry you are in pain. My experience has been that when I have hip pain it can definitely radiate it to the side and even lower back. But if you have any concern, you should call your doctor. Hope you feel better soon! Guest guest
The best of luck with classes Beth. My experience while waiting the several years for my hip replacements was yes. Pain can radiate or migrate a ways. Mine used to hurt in many places and up into the side was one of them. I hope yours subsides soon. I know that daily pain all too well and it makes it really hard. Guest guest
Hi Beth, I have Bursitis of the hips (thanks to AOSD). The pain radiates down my leg as far as the knee at times. At times I also have lower back pain. This is not entirely due to the Bursitis, but the Bursitis contributes to it. Hope this helps Ann K On LI NY Hip/Back Pain Question > Hi Everyone, > > The school year has begun again here in Texas if you can believe that....
