Wow Jim, 4 Miles....If I had the energy...............

Did all of you grow up poor and on beans and taters like me? Some of

the stuff you are talking about sounds like stuff me and my momma threw

together when the cabinets were bare...LOL. My momma worked rotating shifts from

the

time I was 8 and I took care of my sister. SO I did as much cooking as she did

or we went hungry(Yeah right me or sharon go hungry?? Not!) I think that's

why I worry so much about having food in the cabinets now. I don't want the kids

to say that they had to scrounge for food. If it were just me, I think I'd

never cook and live on wendy's value meals...LOL. (Diet coke and baked potato

or a bowl of chili) BUT something in me thinks I have to cook meals for this

crew.

One other thing. We read that they may extend the unemployment another

12 weeks for people....I can't do it any more so Tom is trying to find a job

right now. He has 3 interviews this week and one has BC/BS from day one....A

big plus if I need plastics later. So put your praying in high gear that he

finds a job asap. I hate that school will have to be put off, but we cannot

financially tolerate the drain. We need repairs done in the house and insurance

will help with my drug bills. If the state had played nice and done like they

said we wouldn't be in this mess. So hopefully it will be done before the end of

this extension.....

I hate to say it but I hope he gets second shift. I lose weight better

when he's on second because I make the kids eat sandwiches and I only eat

when hungry.....

Ok, folks, three days later, I have 2.5 rooms of 5 cleaned. Ok, so they are

about 80 percent clean. Yeah, that's it....

As for hamburger and potatoes, that is a great dish! I grew up on it too.

Have any of you had hamburger soup? It's an Amish soup that I really like to

make. Easy and good. how about hamburger, elbow macaroni and chilli powder

and tomato juice??? Sort of like those depression hash dished (Texas hash is

one example).

Ok, I really must do something so I think I'll go take another walk. that

will put me at 4 miles for the day.

Which reminds me of a joke.....

My grandmother started walking 1 mile a day when she turned 70. Not she is

82 and we don't know where the hell she is! LOL

Jim, I barely cleaned the sink in my bath, however, my daughter

cleaned her part of the house! I am now abed with shock!

I am now hungry for elbow mac with canned stewed tomatoes with pan-

fried pork chops. Another depression-era food that I NEVER thought

I would miss!

Good for you for getting 2/5 rooms done, Jim! You'll get there. :)

By the way, if you made 4 miles today, you beat me by half a mile.

Hmmm, I may have to up my schedule! LOL!
