Guest guest
sheena honey,, I think THAT is an excellent idea!!! UCLA is one of the best and even if you have further to drive, its still a better shot for you to get clear!!! please let me know how it goes!!!Sheena <mom4possums2002@...> wrote: As soon as my husband gets over, or adjusts to his dilemma, I am seriously considering changing medical groups and trying again.. It is my understanding that UCLA has some of the best Hep C Docs. It's a bit far, but I have made and can not make any progress here with what I have.. If anyone has some first hand knowledge of UCLA, I'd love to hear from you.. Sheena Rick Kipp <rickkippearthlink (DOT) net> wrote: Liz, I think that is a great idea. Guest guest
I am sure hearing a whole lot about this lately, someone else I know of who came out of remission, (after 2 years) but can't treat again now due to a bleed in his brain, was just put on a maintenance (low) dose of Interferon. Supposedly it helps with the viral load, which in turn gives the liver a break. Not sure if I have that all straight, but know he's not on the pills at all.. Guest guest
THAT is very very RARE for someone to come out of remission after 2 years!!! After 6 months of SVR the relapse rate is only around 3% and it goes down after each year... Im wondering if this person drank alcohol or used steroids or something that caused the relapse..... I also know of one lady who relapsed AFTER 10 years because she went on a 6 month bender.. so sad,, but she retreated and is now SVR 3 years again!Sheena <mom4possums2002@...> wrote: I am sure hearing a whole lot about this lately, someone else I know of who came out of remission, (after 2 years) but can't treat again now due to a bleed in his brain, was just put on a maintenance (low) dose of Interferon. Guest guest
Yes, indeed, he did like his occasional beer. Now he's dealing with the brain issue and being out of remission, just not worth it, Imho.. Guest guest
yep, and the problem is IS that you NEVER know how much is enough to push you over the edge into relapse.. so none is the best way to go..especially IF you have a problem with alcohol and one sip turns into many full drinks..Sheena <mom4possums2002@...> wrote: I think once a month turned out to be too much in this case..
