I'm very comfortable with that because it shortens the time and tssting and $$$$$ for say....... finding out why your ankle hurts so much, or a sore throat. The day of "call 'ol dr. Higgins" is still alive and well, for your PCP will know that you have bronchitis, instead of pnuemonia. Don't expect (your a young'in) the house call though. hahaha After that, tell your liver dr. what's up, like, I have bronchitis and have been prescribed XYZ, drug for the symptoms. YOUR PCP may be a little better than the liver doc dx your problem. The LIVER Doc knows more than we can imagine about livers, but may not know how to best handle a broken finger, whereas the PCP see's a variety of things (mine anyway) and while a jack of all trades, when it comes to serious problems...he know's who to go to, (yes....and I guess that makes him master of none, with the exception of knowing when to run with the ball, and when to hand it off to 'SPEEDY' It will work out alright, when unsure of what to do, just keep those two people informed of whats happening. If you need a doctor for saY sore throat or infection or who nows what.. Go to your Primary doctor.. They all keep in contract and if your on the list for transplant even more so ok..Usually in end stage liver disease your immune system is way way down , so don't hesitate to go the primary doctor for health problems..Your probably getting lots of infection etc..
