I have found that a table spoon works best for . He can't use a

fork at all. I also put on the spoon the pencil grips you can find at

school suplay stores. Cut it on the side so it will grip the spoon.

Works with pencils too.

My daughter had the same problem, so the OT made a long thick rubber tube that she put her fork or knife through. It work awesome for her. She was able to grip the fork or spoons better. She used it for about 3 months and know she feeds herself.
