Guest guest Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 I know a lot of us have had good and bad experience's with ports. Jake got his port a little over a year ago and it has been WONDERFUL for him....but.....I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this....Jake had IVIG on Friday well we had a busy weekend so my husband handled bathing him for me through the weekend well last night as I was undressing him (he's 4) for his bath I noticed that he had a red " blotch " where he was accessed Friday. The best way I know to describe it is to say it looks like a popped blood vessel. It is NOT ozzing anything and it is NOT hot or tender to the touch. My mom works for a surgeon who inserts ports in adults and he said he would take a peek at it for me..Jakes surgeon is an hour away and I hate to drive all that way for this not to be unusual. I was jsut wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this before? , Just wanted to let you know that Dr. B called me yesterday and he wants Jake transfered to the Day Hospital. Wish us luck because Jake is not happy about it!! He likes the Infusion Clinic but I told him we would try the day Hospital and if he didn't like it we would go back to the other.
