, I have been trying the same thing. I have also found that a

paste of baking soda works very well at the bathroom cleaning, like the

tub and sink and faucets. And I have been using liquid dish soap, a

very mild brand, for the toilets and the floor when I mop. I think it

works great, and no nasty smells.

I mean, if something says right on it for a normal person to " open the

window and wear latex gloves " before they use it, what must it do to

our kids when they breathe it?

Now that the boys have been approved the ssi, I am taking some of the

back pay to purchase the REALLY good mattress covers and pillow

covers, I had bought only the cheaper, vinyl kind before, but there is

a better brand just for allergies, and savannah and brennan have

horrid dust allergies. I also went to pull down shades in their rooms

that can just be wiped off instead of the venetian blinds, with just a

little valance that can be washed. I made ceiling fan covers so I can

just pull them off and wash them, which is much easier than always

trying to clean the ceiling fan of dust. No carpet in their rooms,

either.

Hope that helps you some. valarie

Someone else mentioned baking soda for scouring, that's a good idea, haven't

tried it yet. I know what you mean about the blinds, when we pull up the

kids' carpeting I want to get replace the blinds with something else, they

hold way too much dust!
