Guest guest Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 I make this suggestion to a lot of people. Rather than making it individually I am now going to just lay it out there for everyone. If you don't yet have a fax machine in your home, GET ONE! It saves so much time and money. They come in cordless models. The Panasonic one can even tell the difference between a phone call and a fax. No need to have another phone line or tell people to call first. If you pick it up and hear a fax beep simply put the phone back down. Okay I'm not advertising about brands, just a suggestion from experience. Here are the advanages: 1. The nurse cannot mess up or shorten your message to the doc. That fax becomes a part of medical records in the way you intended. 2. With doctor's approval, labs can be faxed to you at the same time they are faxed to the doc. 3. You don't have to worry about staying by the phone waiting to hear back from the doc. He or she knows exactly what you need. 4. Getting a release to a doc for medical records is instant. I have found using a fax invaluable and worth the investment. take care, Kris M Quote
