Guest guest Posted July 22, 2006 Report Share Posted July 22, 2006 Hi, Since my son (10 years) started taking risperdol 7 weeks ago, he has gained close to pounds. I've read here how younger, smaller children have gained 30 pounds. I'm very concerned for him because evem though has always been tall and thin, he has Body Dismorphic Disorder and thought he was fat before he started to gain weight. He's noticed the weight gain and has been saying " no " to things like ice cream and he's been eating a big salads with dinner, but he has a voracious appetite. For meals, he eats double the amount he used to, and he asks for snacks constantly. Does the weight gain ever slow down, or is he destined to gain a lb. a week as long as he's taking it?
