Guest guest Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Judy, I don't know of a particular website dealing with Subcutaneous infusion of IG (SCIG), sorry. We've never dealt with a port, but you mentioned Cody is getting tired of being stuck. However, he will still be stuck with a port because a port lies under the skin and must be accessed for infusion, meaning a stick. I hope Cody's doctors were clear on this with you. The only way to COMPLETELY eliminate a stick for infusion is to have a permanent central line placed surgically. One of the benefits of SCIG is avoiding surgery, and other things like infection, which is one of the risks of having a port. I hope you have all available information regarding all types of infusion sites/devices/processes before your son has surgery. I would do anything to keep my son out of surgery if there is another option. Antipov mother to , 4 years old, X-SCID, 2 BMTS @ Duke, normal T cell function, SCIG weekly Quote
