When we were on holiday we saw a little book of traditional welsh recipes and it listed herb ingredients in handfuls (!). I think we have become very meager with the quantities we use. What great medicine their food was. I have been using cloves more recently - sprinkles in the nut/fruit " cakes " , in baked apples etc. Nice with cinnamon and ginger.
