Guest guest Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 Is THIS what you’re talking about now? Also known as " whore's pasta, " the name of this robust pasta dish originated in Naples after the local women of easy virtue. Guest guest Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 BINGO The legend goes that the "puttanesce", literally translated as "bitch" (puttan) of the "night" (nesce) had a customer to her flat and she made him a meal with only what she had in the cabinets. Some olive oil, garlic, anchovies, black olives, plum tomatoes and capers. If anyone wants my recipe I would be glad to share it. I learned to make it from an old neighbor, Eletra Tornato, whose husband was the head chef on an italian cruise line. Allan with 2 L's now I'm hungry PS Us yankee's know how to eat for sure!
