Guest guest
If you and the doc in SLC have the same goal w/ casting and its purpose in buying lil J. growth time prior to surgery, then I would contact SLC to discuss. If you and the doc are on the same page then they may be able to make a brace that week…..depending on their work load. Casting during the winter and summertime bracing is proving to be a very effective plan of treatment for children who have missed their window of opportunity to grow straight, gently & permanently. If you and the doc feel that lil J. has a chance at full correction, then I would press on with a solid block of casts until the correction is complete. Please keep us posted.HRH From: infantile scoliosis treatment [mailto:infantile scoliosis treatment ] On Behalf Of BethSent: Monday, May 09, 2011 9:27 AMinfantile scoliosis treatment Subject: summertime woes I am really starting to worry that i made the wrong decision. It is not even summertime and already is miserable. He can't do anything without sweating to death and he is really breaking out in a bad rash on his hips and arm pits. Does anyone just how long it takes for SLC to make a brace. They gave us the choice of having a brace or cast for the summer, but that was in December...he was fine in December. I just feel horrible. Now I hear about all of these other families and kids that are going to be able to enjoy their summer, and we are going to be stuck inside in the AC the whole time. Is it possible for them to fit for a brace and we just stay in SLC and they can give it to him within the same week or so? I am really feeling discouraged by all of this. The cast in June will be our 9th one and there is no end in sight.
