Sorry for the delay in response. I used to add a couple of pieces of frozen

strawberry to my individual bottles when I bottled and left at room temp to

ferment longer for fizz. Now I wiz frozen strawberries in the blender with

a little KT to keep things moving, then add less than 10% as I bottle. I

didn't get as many little scobys when I add pieces.

I have had no end of trouble finding a plastic strainer...they all seem to

be metal locally, and i got one and it went rusty and icky within three

months.

i think i'll go for the panty(hose) method. I used to use that when brewing

too.

I ordered my plastic strainers from ebay and they were relatively

inexpensive even with shipping. I don't use them for Kombucha since I don't

strain it...but they work wonderfully for my kefir.
