Guest guest
my daughter Breanna has had 1000's of ear infection (she is 11) and very rarely does she have pain which baffles the drs. The way I tell with her is her tongue has what they call a strawberry look so then it is off to the dr s Breanna eas seem to stay infected they clear up for 2-3 days if I am lucky and then the tongue has that strawberry look again, they have tried many meds and nothing seems to keep them clear so her ped is to the point that I can call and say what is going on and she will call in meds for her otherwise we would be there every day Laurie L . The dr asked if her ears were sore but was adament both times they were'nt. The first instance, the eardrum was about to burst and the other ear was red (she was at the drs for mycoplasma pneumonia). The second instance only involved one ear (at the drs for croup). I know from past threads here that this is not such an uncommon thing with our pid children who deal with such a high amount of ongoing illness, but it made me relise that all those really puzzling times I have smelt 'sinus breathe' on , without a resulting sinus infection, may have been in all probability EAR breathe. Does this sound familiar? Also, for those who are in similiar situations, how do you manage these 'silent' ear infections? In all probability has had many of her ear infections missed- all those times of 'sinus breathe and flushed face/out of sorts/tiredness.... I am feeling really guilty here , mum to (8), low C3 and no IgA, and Ricahrd (6) selective antibody def/low C4/ no IgA

I thought " straberry tongue " was a sign of strep?? This is interesting if it occurs with ear infections only. Sandi, Mom to , age 11. Guest guest
Hi , Funny ,I was just thinking about you, I haven't seen you post in a long time, I hope all is well with you and the kids. Just a quick note, please don't feel guilty about anything, you are a great Mom to your kids, we can't always pick up on everything, especially when the symptoms aren't clear cut. I think we can all miss things at times, but we do the best we can for our kids. They sure don't make this parenting thing easy. Take care. - Mom to - CVID, asthma, gerd 'silent' ear infections has had two very bad ear infections in the past 6 weeks but we had no idea until the dr looked in her ears.
