Guest guest
I think everyone on the board with a toddler can relate, sympathize, as to how to handle a sick child.. I guess from my point of view( opinion only) that I choose to raise my 20 month old, like my other child who is 10.. when he is sick, he gets extra love and attention, but I do not reward negative behaviors. sick or not...climbing on the furniture is part of their development,( although dont ask you mother or mother in law) It seems children never jumped back then HAha.. anyway, I try to normalize the discipline, as if he was a truly normal child, which in almost all ways he is...... I feel that if I do not set limits and boundaries even when sick I will be seting him up for failure later on... ie school... they will not care if he is sick, let alone a behavior problemmm... I do feel that my heart strings are sometimes pulled and yanked, but NO is No it always will be... I am by no means saying this is easy.... NO WAY .. . my son is 20 months
