Guest guest
-I wonder what others have heard.. they said no skin prick, RAST, as they will not be accurate, since he has been on it 3 months now... weird, the variations in doctors opinions... I have a call in to immuno... allergist said it would affect testing.. I am so confused.... -- In , " treadinwater_2000 " <sskapik@c...> wrote: > > <<<< > > My GI told us on Tuesday that we couldnt be allergy tested, because > of the IVIG.. Guest guest
I'm really, really curious too. My daughter wasn't tested for environmental allergies though - it was specifically for penicillin. It's very interesting, I think. Does that mean that those getting IVIG get desensitized to allergens because of the large donor pool? It's fascinating. Hope some others here know definitively on this. Guest guest
<Does that mean that those getting IVIG get desensitized to allergens...> This is new to me as well and am very curious too. I called the Director of the ImmunoCap (updated RAST test) to find out how to get " accurate " results. He said that the only requirement was for IgE to be above 7. He suggested that I read some of Sampson's work...I think Putnam, or his group, has published with him. Would love to hear how to get accurate allergy tests with IVIG kids... treadinwater_2000 <sskapik@...> wrote: I'm really, really curious too.
