Guest guest Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Congrats on your sustained response. I'm teetering on the edge of whether or not to undergo treatment; Through awareness and diet (primarily avoidence of alcohol and tylenol) I've somehow managed to get my liver enzymes perfectly normal in spite of a viral count in the millions. Other than joint pain and fatigue, (which might be symptoms of my advanced age :-), I feel pretty good. I work for one of those hi-tch telecom companies who send another 10% of the jobs to a third-world country every year, so I might find myself without a job or health insurance this time next year. I'm wondering if I should do treatment while I can afford it. I imagined that my type 1 HCV would not likely respond to treatment...so why bother. Your success makes me wonder. May I ask why you decided to try treatment? I recently lost an old friend to HCV; another friend and co-worker just went on medical leave in very bad shape, (after failing to respond to treatment) Am I being stupid not taking the cure? I've had one biopsy, and it made me never want to go to a doctor again... I made a friend on one of the Hep boards who is currently doing treatment in Sacramento, and I can see her personality changing in her e-mails...she's depressed/sick and wondering if she made the right choice. Oh...Hilbilly...thanks for your comment...I can't say that I support our elected officials, but my brothers in arms always get my respect and empathy. Quote
