I am so busy with school

and life I haven’t had a chance to write. We had a second IEP meeting for

my son . He is listed as having an ED, then LD and third Aspie. I

agreed to put him ED so that we would have an easier time moving him to a more restricted

environment if we need to. He is now in the resource room full time.

They have a reward chart for . When he gets 5 minutes of productive work

time in he circles the 5 minutes and when he gets 20 minutes he gets a prize (Whatever

he wants to pick.) When he gets 4 of the 20 minutes he gets a bigger

prize. We are taking in his favorite computer game in to load on the

schools computer, so every Friday if he was productive during the week he can

play the game at school. He seems to be doing better. Yesterday he had

only a half day at school, but he did very well. We noticed that during

the school day around 2 PM he would start to not want to do anything. His Abilify has a

half life and we found out when the half life wears off (around 2 PM!) he starts to not want

to do anything. So he now takes a dose at school at 2 PM (2.5 mg) that seems to

be helping too. Starting in the next week he is going to have a

paraprofessional from where he goes and sees his therapist come to the school

and work with him on social cues and being productive. So, things are

going really well here!
