Hello everyone! My name is Joanie, I have a 13 year old son with Asperger's. My situation is complicated but I will try to simplify. He spends quite a bit of time at his dads who is permissive-let's him do what he wants. I am not exaggerating when I say he spends 80% of his awake hours at the xbox-mostly violent-the rest of the time might be spent watching wrestling or some sort of "violence". He is very addicted (obsessed?). This makes things very easy for my soon to be ex, as he is not really dealing with him. When my son is back at home I try to limit these activities, I believe he should not be glued to a screen all the time and want him to do productive activities as well. He is extremely smart academically. He often has meltdowns that result in physically hurting me and sometimes his sister (10), mostly when I am trying to get him off the screens. I use all the strategies-schedules, warnings, timers etc. He thinks he can do what he wants. We are in the worse custody

battle. son wants to live with dad-more fun. I think his very future depends on living with me and Someone making his dad stop being neglectful. I also live in the best school district in the region-have an ASD program that has been featured many times. His dad says he wants to send him to a private Catholic school in the area because of their academics. No support for someone who couldn't get organized if his life depended on it. I want to do everything possible for him so he can reach his full potential. I've called, seen, met with everyone I know to try and get some help. His dads main argument is that "he doesn't have any trouble with him at his house. Must be the stressful environment at my house." I'm not sure how much I "simplified" this, any help, suggestions, for any of these problems would be very much appreciated. Also, he is fine at school, no meds-dad says he doesn't need them, and he gets very hyper, wild, silly, won't listen at home. Has a diagnosis of

ADHD that is not really recognized. The most wonderful Dr. (child development specialist) is actually testifying at the trial. We drive almost 2 hours away every 3 months to Rochester to see him. I'm hopeful he will help the judge understand whats really going on.Thank you!.......JoanieJoan L Potter (Jordan)
