I told him about Kenzie's previous episodes of violent masturbation and told him about the Diflucan running out. One of the things he said was that maybe crystals were forming kidney stones. I had forgotten that two years ago I had Kenzie tested and it came back " crystals too numerous to count " . I used a homeopathic remedy and it worked. My doctor also said that using Diflucan that I should be doing liver function tests every six weeks. I admit that I haven't done one since January. I didn't realize that Diflucan effected the liver..is this correct? I wrote him that Kenzie's anxiety level is through the roof with doctors any more and I literally can't get him in the clinic door. It took four large men and myself to hold down a 63 lb boy. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to give him to help with the anxiety. My local doctor said chloral hydrate (sp?). Guest guest Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 Aggression and masterbation sound more like testosterone issues to me, but that's just my parental opinion. All antifungals effect the liver in some degree, but again, we don't see families having liver issues with diflucan... If you've also seen crystals in the stool, this could be sign of an oxalate problem. If so, get up to speed on foods that are high in oxalates. Owens work is in this are and she has a group called " trying the low oxalate diet. " Basically colored fruits and veggies are more likely to have oxalates. Some children may have a greater sensitivity to oxalates. My son didn't, but some do. - Stan > > > > I wrote my DAN doctor yesterday to update him. Guest guest Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 Hi Penny, I just wanted to tell you that my son had all of those issues when his histamines would get high. Yeast flare ups can actually raise histamines along with seasonal allergies, or other allergies. Undermethylated kids are more often the ones with high histamine issues. I also read that the high histamines cause inflammation. When my son's histamines are high he gets OCD behaviors (including scripting), anxiety, rashes (rarely), sneezing, itching (rarely), aggression, excessive " boy behaviors " and explosive anger. Some things that work really well for my son are methionine, NDF Plus, Herbs for Kid's immune support, Vitamin C with bioflavanoids, LL and zinc. A really helpful place to read more about it would be http://www.alternativementalhealth.com/articles/walshMP.htm Goodluck and I hope something here helps. Guest guest Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 Chloral Hydrate may (?) cause "opposite reactions" in certain children. (Maybe allergic reactions?) I used to work as an RN in a pediatric unit years ago and I remember one child (who now I wonder if he wasn't autistic) so hyper and wild and screaming that he couldn't be controlled and we tried chloral hydrate and he actually became worse. I think cloral hydrate, if it does work, has TOO MUCH of a drugging affect on certain kids. When my son had a brain scan they used it and it took him way longer than it should have to wake up and then he was a bit "drunk" acting so I would definitely use a lesser dosage if you go that route. until you know how it will affect him. Guest guest Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 Another thing associated to high histamine is methylation. Quite often folks with chronic histamine issues (including asthma) improve when they try MB12. If you haven't done a trial yet, you might want to consider it. - Stan > > > > I wrote my DAN doctor yesterday to update him. Guest guest Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 well, got the MB12 nasal today. my grandson wouldn't let me spray it so i am going to try when he is sleeping. wil continue to work on his cooperation tho in daytime. He says he's afraid it will hurt. He is a very high histamine child-such a full nose that i hope something goes up-will let you all know when I get the B12 down pat-how his allergies are. also started slowly on OLE(since I haven't been able to get rx for valtrex) three days ago. Plan to increase to 650 mg total a day(I am recompounding the powder) after a while. doing 3 x a day-now about 350 mg a day total -it's all kind of guesswork as i don't have the drops. He has had a few large red pimples come and go on his back and chest-but he has been wonderful since moving in with me( so a lot of improved behavior needs to be attributed to my stress free environment) well almost as nobody's is totally stress free.
