Guest guest Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 I was surprised about the exercise thing also. I asked my doctor if he thought I'd be able to go to my regular muscle madness class at the Y that I have on Fridays. He asked about what kind of exercise it was and since it is low aerobic, light weight training he said no to wait for the 2 week blood test. I thought he said he wanted to make sure the white blood count was good but I probably heard him wrong and he said something else. With my doctor you have to listen so carefully to what he says because he only says it once and if you don't hear him or if you don't understand that's your problem. Actually, he was the one that told me if I had "silly" questions to call the "Be In Charge" group. I think everyone knows how I feel about them now! LOL If you don't know and you'd like to know feel free to ask me so I can vent some more! Anyway - back to the subject at hand. I practice Yoga also and I asked my doctor about that and he said that would be OK. That's good because I wouldn't have given that up anyway. So, now that I'm posting I may as well confess to a few side effects that started last night. (1) mild diarhea (2) electric shocky feelings in my arms and legs; (3) mild muscle aches; (4) vaginal bleeding. That 4th one is one I've yet to hear anyone else have. At least I've never heard of that being a side effect. But with me its always been like I am the harbinger of side effects unknown to normal humankind. Peace & Love - Abby >> my dr. said the opposite, he said to exercise as tolerated. Guest guest Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Jackie as I recall one of the side effects listed by my doc was vaginal bleeding . I have no ideal what they would do to treat it , if it is treated at all . A low dose BC ? Re: Re: Abby--a question about the exercise (m) Hi Abby Wow, never heard of vaginal bleeding as a side effect so if it were me, I'd call the doc if it happens again. Are you post menopausal yet? Where were you in your menstrual cycle? Maybe you were closer than you thought for the old period time..? Im just guessing. I stopped my period more than a year before I found out that I have hep so it was not something that I had to deal with on treatment. The other sides are quite common and can be controlled with tylenol and advil unless you have a contraindication for those two meds and then if you use them, only up to the max of 2000mg of tylenol plus 1600 mg of advil per 24 hour period.. Keep us updated and congrats for getting that first shot out of the way.. my first one was the worst,, the rest were different but easier than that first one jaxabbycsu <abbycsu@...> wrote: I was surprised about the exercise thing also. Guest guest Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 Abby, I confess . . . I feel much worse than when I posted yesterday. I also am having the tingling, no diarrhea (but def. going more), extreme dizziness and exhaustion and am having to force myself to eat. I know I have to take it one day at a time, but just 6 months ago, I was working 30 hours a week at a demanding job, managing a household of 5 (with 2 boys who have serious emotional needs), exercising and enjoying life. The dizziness and fatigue has come on gradually the past 2-3 months, but I'm amazed at how little I can do now. I'll just keep plugging away . . .it's all I can do! Take care, Robin P.S. You should get that vaginal bleeding checked. > > > > my dr. said the opposite, he said to exercise as tolerated. Guest guest Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 Robin as time went on I was able to do more exercise. I got to going to the gym and doing the bicycle, tread mill and this skiing thing(LOL). And swimming is a good form of exercise that takes the stress off the joints. I would take a boogy board in the water with me, I would push the water away from me with the boogy board. It helped with the resistance. And my arms lost that wavy thing that happens to alot of woman. LOL Love JanetSharon Crosby <blubirdxoxo@...> wrote: My first doc said the same thing, emphasized the necessity of exercise. Guest guest Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 That is the way to do it hon, Take it one hour a day. I used to take power naps. 20 to 30 mins of laying down about twice a day. Sometimes I would fall asleep, or I would simply just lay there with my eyes closed, listening to some soothing music. And not music with alot of words. I liked music with nature sounds, like waves crashing on a beach. But it is your own personal preference to what kinds of music you prefer. I called this my recharge time. I would fine after I had a recharge I felt alot better and had more enegry because of it. Whatever works for you. Love Janetadoptbc <adoptbc@...> wrote: Abby,I confess . . .
