Guest guest
Not having the ability to buy on-line I have been trying to find sources of oolong and Pu-erh tea here in San Diego. I found: http://www.infusionsoftea.com/servlet/the-Teas-and-Tisanes-cln-Oolong-%26-Pu-dsh\ -erh/Categories I called them and they recommended that for brewing with kombucha, i used the cheapest oolong they have.... but $9.50 for 2 oz??? Ditto for green Pu-Erh but it is their Imperial Puerh that says ot helps with weight loss and that costs $16 for 2 ozs!!. They also have Premium Tuocha in a cake for $15 for 2 ozs and that is 8 cakes. There is another source of bulk teas in San Diego: http://www.sdhouse.com/html/san_diego_tea.html After spending what seemed like 1/2 my life scrolling their website (no search engine boo hiss) I finally found Formosa Oolong for at $15 for 1/4 lb which i guess is 4 oz. Thedse people also have something called Wuyioolong Tea for $18 for 1/4 lb and a Blood Type B tea for $12. So aside from the fact thnat i have no idea which of those are a good buy.... Would it be advisable to brew KT using Oolong and Pu-erh together at once? Assuming Oolong is a green tea and Pu-erh a black tea? It's been so long since I had Oolong I forget whether it is green tea or not!!! The reason i want to combine them is weight loss. If I could loose some weight, it would make a whole lot of other things much better for me, healthwise. These prices seem very high to me. I am brewing in 1 gallon pickle jars and used 5 tea bags i think.... so that was what 5 teaspoons of tea? How much of these expensive teas would i use to make 1 gal kombucha? -- - May the Holy Spirit dance in our hearts!
