Me too Liz! I know you must be feeling cheated. What was this, your fourth attempt? Please keep hope in your heart. Remember too, I did not go looking for answers elsewhere. I accepted completely my doctors prognosis, but alternative help found me. If love from your friends and family were enough to heal you, you would be well. WE love you Liz! Thanks . My options at this point are only transplantation , and even then the new liver would become rapidly infected . And I can no longer treat with interferon drugs or riba , and herbal meds and me dont mix

Should be an early birthday present then. In my experience Leo's rock! Not at all prone to depression... and yet you say things like you have no hope for an effective treatment... I believe there is a small rodent coming to remove a thorn from your paw... :)elizabethnv1 <elizabethnv1@...> wrote: My bday is July 29th Re: My lab work came back , and its not good Me too Liz! Haha I suffer from no depression ......just a realist attitude . I was diagnosed back in the early 80's and have rapidly progressed to liver failure , I treated for 15months with interferon monotherapy . That gave my liver some time to try to heal , but the last 3 times I have treated it did nothing but make my liver worse and now my heart has been effected . I have had the years to understand this disease and the treatments available and also time to come to terms with what can happen if it isnt brought under control . I know you have hope that the new AVI medication will help me , but I believe my virus is replicating in body elsewhere now . I of course will try and treat with any new meds that become available and I keep a positive attitude , but of course I already know that I have less than a 15% chance of ever clearing . I lost my 27 yr old brother to liver failure on Christmas day years ago , I think my family genetics are playing a strong role in how I respond , LOL

Liz, enough is enough. Please talk to your doctor and ask them to contact AVI. Your doctor may be able to get this for you via a backdoor. The FDA allows for "Compassionate Use" exemptions. All you need do is get your doctor to tell the FDA that this is your best chance for survival, and you might get AVI's drug now. Please just do it! The company has saved primates from the ebola virus using a similar technology. Ebola is 100% fatal in primates. (What do HCV and Ebola have in common? They are both single stranded RNA virus.) The HCV drug has a synthetic backbone that previous anti-sense technology lacked. This lets the drug enter and remain in the body without the body's natural immuno response. And because the drug is genetically designed to only interact with the HCV RNA, there are no side effects. Try this please. The following is an email the company sent me just

before I turned up undetectable. I was on the verge of trying this myself. "As you might expect, we've received a tremendous number of calls from HCV patients looking to enter the upcoming patient treatment portion of the clinical trial with AVI-4065. When we receive such calls, all we can do is turn them over to the primary clinical site in Palo Alto, suggesting that they call and seek to sign up, since it is the clinical site in any of our trials that enrolls patients, not us. They can also look up the particulars of the trial by logging onto www.clinicaltrials.gov and typing in AVI BioPharma But I understand, from your e-mail, your situation, given the distance, expenses and other. And while I'm not part of the Clinical Development group here at AVI, I can only suggest that your physician might want to call

here and enquire as the possibility of an emergency IND, commonly called "compassionate use". This, in no way, is any assurance that such a path is possible or viable. But I'm a strong believer that life has options; and if there is any avenue we can seek, any that can provide at least hope, then we'll do what we can--and allowed to--to help, I'm certain. For your physician's knowledge, and in regard to the clinical site for the next stage of treatment, the contacts are Bratcher, R.N., and Jude , R.N. at 650.493.5000. For queries--which must come from your physician--for access to our drug under an emergency IND, which use must be reviewed and approved by the FDA--I suggest you call Hollemon, R.N or , R.N., here at AVI BioPharma: 503.227.0554. Again, there are no promises or assurances that such requests can be honored. But at least it's worth a try. In the

meantime, and in addition to logging onto our website: www.avibio.com, for updates, if you have any requests for updates or other that I can provide, please let us know. In the meantime, our kindest regards and wishes for additional success in treating your disease. Best wishes, C. Hubbard" I never had my doctor make the call, it turned out that I didn't need to. But maybe I was given this information so that I could help you by passing it to you. If this is a test of my faith, I think I just passed. This could also be a test of your faith. All my love and best wishes Liz! Chriselizabethnv1 <elizabethnv1@...> wrote: Haha I suffer from no depression ......just a realist attitude . I will check into it , but I have no ideal if they will allow it until my cardiac issues are dealt with . Before I did the infergen I spent alot of time trying to get into clinicals . I was repeatedly denied entry because of all my preexisting medical conditions .

From my read of the email, I don't think this is getting into a trial, and like Mike said in the email, it is not guarranteed, but after your heart stuff settles down, please do give this company a chance. Please get more rest. You are posting like there's no tomorrow. Drink lots of water and sleep early... You know, all the things your Grandmother would tell you. ;) Hugs, Chriselizabethnv1 <elizabethnv1@...> wrote: I will check into it , but I have no ideal if they will allow it until my cardiac issues are dealt with .
