Distilled Water??

I hear so many things on this list re: water usage. I was wondering I have been

brewing for 6 months and have always used distilled water as that was what I was

told by the person who introduced us to KT............then other times I have

read here that distilled water is not good cause ALL the minerals and everything

are removed.....A time or two I took our regular water here and unlike most

places we have wonderful water, I boiled it and used it cause I was buying so

much distilled water because I have 8-10 gallons goin all the time. I did not

like the taste of those particular brews (not positive the water was the problem

but that was the only thing I had changed)

My question: Is distilled water okay to use, as we have grown accustomed to

the taste, or are we denying ourselves necessary minerals,...etc...etc??? What

do most people use???

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.
