There does seem to be a lot of overlap in triggers for both autism and CFS if you Google them. Guest guest
Hi Just wanted to let you know you’re not alone. I have a son (7)with ASD albeit at the high functioning end, for which we are still having to fight for help, and I was finally diagnosed with ME 18 months ago after suffering over 15 years! I have the biomed approach has worked fantastically for both of us, and in addition I have undergone the Lightning Process after which I made amazing progress with in the first 24 hours so would highly recommend both to you, and for both would recommend introducing digestive enzymes as well as aloe vera daily. This forum is full of very informed people who are only too happy to share their experiences. Good Luck Elaine From: Autism Treatment [mailto:Autism Treatment ] On Behalf Of Sue Sent: 06 February 2010 07:14 Autism Treatment Subject: Introduction Hi I've just joined this group and wanted to introduce myself. I have two children with chronic health issues. My daughter (15) has recently been found to have had glandular fever, following years of ME/CFS symptoms, and my son (11) received a diagnosis of autism a year ago. Having children with not one, but two politically controversial medical conditions, which took years to diagnose, I have become very interested in the diagnostic process itself. The biggest obstacle to further progress to finding the causes of complex symptoms, in my view, is the widespread assumption that similar symptoms must indicate the same causes; that all people with CFS symptoms must have the same condition (CFS), and all people with autistic symptoms must have the same condition (autism). My daughter has responded very well to a dairy-free diet, and my son to switching to goats' milk, so I am looking forward to reading about other parents' experiences with dietary interventions. I am also interested in sensory factors in autism. Sue
Guest guest
Thank you Elaine. A friend of mine was one of the first patients diagnosed with ME thirty years ago, so I find it shocking that it's still being missed and that dietary issues are overlooked. There is no medical support at all for children with ME/CFS type symptoms, so we were very relieved when we found Myhill who has recommended a number of interventions which we are trying in sequence. So far, she has been spot on with dairy-free diet, vitamin d and omega 3. I'm not sure the Lightning Process would help dd, because she hasn't had the problem of a long period of undiagnosed illness. The rapid and obvious improvement when she came off dairy gave her a huge boost and put her in control of her health, basically. And we did consider aloe vera but ds had a really marked allergic reaction to it, so we don't want to risk it. Dd has hypochlorhydria so that's our next step. Thanks again Sue > > Hi > > > > Just wanted to let you know you're not alone. Guest guest
Hi Sue I’ve also contacted Myhill but with all the supplements my son has I can’t afford all her recommendations for me, that’s why I tried the Lightning Process. My understanding of it, it doesn’t need a period of undiagnosed illness, it works by reprogramming the brain to have positive associations to overcome illness, lack of confidence and so much more. I’m not very good at explaining but I really would recommend doing some investigations on the internet or even speaking to a practitioner. I know Myhill has a number of patients who have combined her treatments with it to great effect. I’m just waiting for a lottery win so I can do it all lol!! Guest guest
Hello - My name is Cheryl Doolittle, and I live in Pleasant Hill, California, which is about 30 minutes from the heart of San Francisco. I am a stay-at-home mom. I personally love raw milk products their great taste, but I'm more interested in the health benefits of them for my children. Fortunately we can still purchase raw milk and cream at our local Whole Foods and other natural markets. I can also get raw goat products from a farm within an hour from here, although it's technically labeled at " pet food. " My main concern is whether my son, who is on a casein-free diet, will do well on raw milk. I know a lot of you have positive experiences in this regard. I also need to learn how to make my own yummy kefir! Cheryl

Guest guest
Thanks for the link. I will look into this soon. I've actually been on vacation this month and will be getting my shipment of raw milk started again in next week, so will be looking into the grains. Thanks again for the info. So excited to make my own. Love fermenting my own foods! So are there a lot of moms out there that have been on gf/cf diets who are successfully giving their kids raw milk/kefir? > > > > Go onto the kefir_making yahoo e-group and ask for kefir grains, there's alot of folks on there willing to share their grains that have doubled in growth..I brew both water kefir and milk kefir.. > > My grains are just starting to grow now..Not enough to share yet,though...Some will trade for handmade items other will send for > > cash or for postage...I got my water kefir grains for Handspun mohair/wool yarn that I spun from my angora goat's fiber and some > > wool I got in another trade with someone..LJPS > > Lindy Haven Goat Farm..Ramona,CA > > Re: Introduction > > > > > > > > o - > > > > My name is Cheryl Doolittle, and I live in Pleasant Hill, California, which is about 30 minutes from the heart of San Francisco. Guest guest
I will check today when I go. I know I've bought it since March 3. However, lately I'm getting goat milk from a farm so I haven't paid much attention to what's in the grocery store. > > > > Hello - > > > > My name is Cheryl Doolittle, and I live in Pleasant Hill, California, which is about 30 minutes from the heart of San Francisco.
