I'd feel safe saying most 14 year-old boys hate running errands or shopping

with mom. Heck, after age 10 is probably pushing it. LOL

I never in a million years would say my son (14) has

ODD but he is like this when we shop. I always just

thought he hated shopping so I run (the rare) errands

without him. Don't most kids hate errands?

I'd also be interested in more info about ODD.

LOL. Over the past few years my almost-14yo son has become mildly

passive/aggressive on the issue of shopping, especially if it's for clothes for

him. Unless he absolutely detests something I point out, he nearly always goes

along with it just to " get it over with. " Now, the time I insisted he get a

blazer and tie, on the other hand ...

You're so right. I should have said he's hated it

since he was 7 at least. I've seen that in most kids

tho I think. So I guess I was wondering about the

psyh. in the original post -- was he thinking mom was

enabling/giving in to the ODD by not taking him on

errands?
