Hi, Everyone......Annie....welcome to the group. My son, Gareth, is 15 with

DS/Aut/OCD. It's such a welcomed relief to a lot of us once we find this

group and realize that there are other DS children out there that don't fit the

CLASSIC mode for a DS child. Tell us more about Raven......love that name!

As for Gareth....it's been a LONG summer!!! I am finally seeing the light at

the end of the tunnel, though......school starts in a month!!! In his

defense, though, I know it has to do with his surgeries from March and June.

His

hip still bothers him and he still requires the wheelchair for errands and the

mall. He even asks for his brace occasionally when his hip is really bothering

him. His butt continues to ooze constantly....I have resorted to putting 2

panty liners (plus gauze) on his underwear each day to try to keep the pus from

soaking through his pants. He won't tolerate any sort of tape, so it's a

constant battle keeping him dry. Does anyone else have a kid dealing with

pilonidal cysts? It's not that he's been horrible behavior wise......just VERY

OCD.

He's constantly following me a round like a lost puppy dog asking the same

questions over and over and over and over again. Everything has to be the same,

done the same way, etc. If I don't give him attention, he goes off into his

'world'....something I haven't seen in years. I am sure the move didn't help

matters any. I go out daily for an hour or two to run errands and leave him

with (his older brother)....then feel guilty about it!!! Hope everyone

else is doing OK. Is anyone going to the Philly

meeting this month? Take care, Everyone.

Margaret
