Guest guest
No disrespect, . I don't see that as a good thing. Telecommuting vs. interacting with human beings. "Need/addiction" to computers/technology. Hmmmmm. I have to wonder who would benefit from that? Microsoft/others who stand to profit from the sale of technology. Let's make a group or entire population addicted/dependent upon these devices (battery-operated btw). I tend to look at the big picture here. If everyone lost their cell phone today for a week, do you realize how much electricity would be saved. Further, if everyone reverted to a corded home telephone, again........ big energy savings. It takes little to no electricity for a telephone to ring, whereas a cordless phone uses an antenna (bad) and eats way more on the battery-charger. We should all take the WiFi dangers seriously and hope that our children can and are encouraged to talk to one another -- even if on a telephone vs. this way. It is NOT my goal NEVER to meet any of you. I would LOVE to meet ALL of you. seriously"Recovery"?????? that is my definition. The day my son interacts 100% with any other human being.Rox Kathy / Re: Minshew I have long thought that instead of taking away the child's "perseveration, " you should use it as a tool for learning. My kids are REALLY into the computer and could probably amaze you with what they can do. Recently, was having a difficult time sitting still through a lecture and then having to write about the topic, so his aide took him to the library and they googled the subject. He was thrilled, and now knows more about erosion (what an exciting topic!) than anyone in his class. I can guarantee you that both of my kids will work (I hope) in the computer industry. And you know what? You can telecommute. No accommodations required. I don't think that will ever be able to tolerate a real workplace, but he can surely telecommute. > > Well, actually, I think some of the computer-based learning that Ben > has done has done exactly the opposite from interfering.
