<<I also do know Farb, to the person who asked, he is great. He is

most definitely a behavior analyst and he works with a provate school

with primarily Downs kids. He has many years of experience and studied

with some of the best behavior analysts. >>

So, how much does he know about autistic kids if he works primarily with

Downs kids? This is what KILLS me about Calallen ISD. There are soooo many

great

BCBA's out there who work with AUTISTIC kids, why not hire one of those to

work with AUTISTIC kids!!!

Thanks for the info!!!

Farb has the reputation of working with kids who have Downs, but my

guess is that less than half of the students at the Arbor School have Downs.

I visited the school several months ago, and there are lots of kids with

other types of diagnoses there, including ASD.

While there are some significant differences in the challegnes our ASD kids

face, the principles of ABA are valid for teaching children with all types

of disabilities (and those without any disability!). definitely

understands the science of ABA. Just one conversation with him and you'll

know what I mean. He lives, breathes, and talks ABA - which is why I had

written in my previous post that he really loves what he does.
