Guest guest
IMHO it's probably more to do with placebo effect or just plain sugar fix. But that's just MHO. Personally I don't get any effect, in fact I've had more colds since I started drinking KT than in the three years before having just kefir. I'll still drink the KT because I like it, no other reason. Jim > > I keep wondering of this effect as well. Guest guest
No, they are definitely colds, you know when you get that itchy feeling at the back of your throat and the roughens in your chest. But I have to say they don't really take hold and make me ill. I just find it strange that I get more. Ah, I think giving up Cola was probably the best thing you did. I've never liked fizzy pop. So perhaps what people are experiencing is getting better after giving up that commercial rubbish. Don't get me wrong I love my KT. I just get a bit nervous when I hear so much exaggeration about a things qualities. If only because and exaggerated mind towards and object usually ends up flipping the other way to aversion. It's so hard trusting what our mind throws at us, it's our biggest deceiver we can't take it too seriously. Anyway there's worse things we could drink so don't take me too seriously either. lol. Guest guest
> > Lonnie/: > > Could you please give some details on the external applications - would be interesting to learn more? > Thank you! > I will be glad to share a few things w/ you re: external application of KT........just yesterday my wife was cooking peanut brittle candy on top of the stove, had just taken pot off to pour up in pans and some of the candy spilled over onto her thumb-HOT CANDY STILL COOKING WHILE IT SAT ON HER THUMB......I ran and got a small bottle of cut up scobies that I have place around the house for emergencies..........she quickly dipped her whole thumb down in the jar swished it around a few seconds.....INSTANTLY it quit burning and there is no blister today or even any tenderness at all on the thumb, and believe me from years of making this candy and having hot candy splashed on my hands, that is quite miraculous!!! Secondly, when I strain my tea for bottling, I use unbleached coffee filters, to catch all the yeasties, and ooglies, when the fresh KT is draining into the jars and finally gets clogged up I pinch the corners of the filter together, squeeze out remaining tea and then twist the coffee filters together and put them in a jar..........I use these filters as a face massage after I shave (it's great for relieving razor burn), facial blemishes, when your skin is chaffed or galded, nicks or cuts or scrapes you name it KT helps it. Thirdly, I have given cut up scoby pieces to people all around our town, and they have reported putting them on warts and boils, only to see them dry up and heal. But one of the most outstanding stories was a lady we know who has a ranch here and one of her horses stepped on the calf of her leg and greatly damaged it, she showed us the ugly raw oozing sore that her Dr had not been able to do anything with. In fact it was getting so bad he told her she might lose her leg!!! Our pastor's wife told her she wanted her to try thses scobies I had given to her and just about anyone else who will take them A week or so later she came by and was ecstatic that the wound which the doctor's had never been able to stop draining, had dried up after 2 or 3 days with continual scoby packing!!! Plus she said that in the mean time she had discovered an open wound on the leg of one of her horses. She said well if it worked for me it should work for her horse. She put scobies on the wound and it dried up in 24 hours. Needless to say we have converted her to some alternative treatment. We all know Kombucha is not a " cure all " and we don't even presume that it is, but I can assure you it is a wonderful friend and companion to us, for we have witnessed first hand what it can do. I do not hesitate to recommend it to anyone, as we have friends and family in Oklahoma,Oregon, and Arizona who can attest to many other similar claims as I have just mentioned. Guest guest
Hi Lonnie, I'm sure you're right, I have to admit that I don't have any achy joints now but I put that down to getting back on my bike. I suppose I was pretty fit to start with so didn't really notice much difference. I really love my KT though and I am sure that drinking more green and black tea with the added benefits of the fermentation is really a benefit. I've just posted pix of the glass of KT champagne supernova that I'm drinking at the moment. I should have put it in a flute, but I think the old Grolsch bottle steered my hand to a beer glass. I wish you could taste it. I'm very pleased with it indeed. : -) Oh, it seems they need approving. Oh well, I'll put them here: http://tinyurl.com/yox4ko http://tinyurl.com/2d3jkg Jim > > > > ... > > >... > > > > > > We both feel better than we have felt in years........it is > saving us > > > $$$ as some of our tastes have changed, we were spending a small > > > fortune on Pepsi Cola that we were hooked on,... > > > > Ah, I think giving up Cola was probably the best thing you did. > I've never liked fizzy pop. Guest guest
Lonnie....I so agree with you! My uncontrolled BP has also normalized as has my sleep. I also stopped drinking both Mountain Dew and coffee. I didn't give it up...I just no longer had the craving! I occasionally have a coffee, just as I occasionally have ice cream, because it is tastey...not just to get going in the a.m. My energy, too, is higher and I am accomplishing much more any given day. I like to think it is a combination of the detox abilities of the G. acids and the probiotic effect of the critters. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it! Happy brewing and imbibing!!
