I used to live in Clayton County, just outside Atlanta. The school system was a nightmare. I took my daughter out of school. I have been homeschooling her for about 5 years now. She is 15. I didn't find out until last year she has Asperger's.

Hi everyone. We are going to be moving to Atlanta, Georgia area fromVirginia and would like some info on peditricians, developmentalspecialists, ABA therapists, neurologist, and areas with good schooldistricts. I have read some posts and have gone through docs likesome of you have in VA and would like any recommendations in GA. I amscared out of my mind of starting all over in an area where I don'tknow anyone, schools, doctors, teachers. I have a gifted 13yo and a HFA 6yo who is currently in Kindergarten. I realize it's not always the school but the teachers that make adifference with the individual child. The recommendations on areas tolive by my husband's co-workers are nice but they don't reallyunderstand what goes along with special ed, which is why I am herewriting this.PLEASE, any information will be greatly appreciated!!!! We will bemoving come March, so I'm trying to get as much info as possible tomake the transition as smoothly as possible for my son. Thank you all, so much for listening., Nicky's mom

I live in Locust Grove. Someone on this board referred me to a

wonderful peditrician. Her name is Dr. Brichant (770)389-0116. She

does not treat biomedical but is open to it. I use Dr.

Tanner M.D. (770)676-6000 for biomedical treatment. Both doctors

have been wonderful for my son.

Where are you moving to? My 13 y/o has AS....Anyway, I am a real estate agent, and donate 5% of my commission at closing to Autism research. A few lenders that I work with donate as well, let me know if you need any help with finding a home. Let me know where you are moving to, & I'll let you know what I know about the schools, etc.

Feel free to contact me off group, m_bernstein@...

Look forward to hearing from you, and I started over here 3 years ago, it's a tough road getting things in place.
