Guest guest
Sheila: Potts and , off of Highway 42 (Campground Road), are good. We go there with our autistic son. Dr. has a special needs child himself, and is always willing to do testing, etc. if we request it. He's not a DAN doctor or anything, but is great for regular pediatric medicine. C. eyelovebrian@... 09/26/2004 11:04 PM Please respond to autism autism cc: Subject: pediatrician recommendation needed Anybody out in Henry county, what would be the recommendation for a good pediatrician? We had a great one in Carrollton, but I need to find one here when we get insurance I will know where to go. Thanks Sheila
Guest guest
I use Marixie Gilrane on Hanover Pkwy in Stockbridge (she was recommended by our son's ENT physician). Our experience with Potts & was not good. We were with them the first 3 years of my son's life and despite repeatedly telling them of his regression, lack of progress, etc., they failed to pick up on his autism or refer us for any testing, etc., always giving us the same excuse-- boys are slower than girls. Well, we are aware of that statistic, but they should not go from a happy outgoing child who talks to one who is withdrawn and doesn't say anything without something being wrong. However, everyone's experience is different, as I know people who love Dr. Potts and Dr. . In our first visit with Dr. Gilrane, she got our appointment moved up with The Marcus Center from September to May and has been always willing to fill out all our necessary paperwork for deeming waiver in a very timely fashion, etc., and save me the trip to Marcus (and the $75 fee) to get all this done by his developmental pediatrician. Good luck in your search for the right pediatrician for you!! > Sheila: > > Potts and , off of Highway 42 (Campground Road), are good. We go > there with our autistic son. Guest guest
I live in Locust Grove. Someone on this list recommended Dr. Brichant (770)389-0116. I really like her. She is very opened minded. She asked me what I was using for my son's ear infection and I told her that I was using natural drops from the health store. She asked if chamomile was ingredient in the drops because it is an antinflammatory. I also provided her with two books, Biological Treatments for Autism and PDD and Children with Starving Brains. She was very open to them. She even asked questions when I went in on my next visit. She also asked for some cards from my biomedical treatment doctor. I use Tanner (770)696-6000 for biomedical treatments. While we are on the subject, I would like to mention that Dr. Iyer, on Hwy 138 in Stockbridge is the one who damaged my child with vaccines. I have a child who turned four year old this year. He was reading and writing. He was fine. Dr. Iyer gave him a Hep B, Polio, DTaP and MMR. We had missed his MMR at 12 -18 months. My son within a month slipped into the autism spectrum at age four. Dr. Iyer kept telling me he was fine. I had my son treated by a DAN doctor and within a week he could write the word map. He is not back to his old self but he is not like he was a month after the vaccines. He has made a lot of progress. Dr. Iyer admitted that he knew about the DAN doctors but he did not support it so he did not tell me about them. He did offer to send my son to a psychiatrist. If I would have listen to Dr. Iyer my son would be on meds and who knows what else. Hope this helps. Lynn > I would like a pediatrician recommendation for my son. We live in > McDonough, GA.
