Commonly Asked Questions

1. Payments:Carnival Cruises will require a deposit of $250.00 per person at the time of booking. Final payment is due by August 9, 2007.

2. Documents: Each person will be required to have either a valid US Passport or a state issued birth certificate with a photo ID. There are no exceptions. Canadian and other residents will need to check with their consulates to see if a visa will be required.

3. Cabin Assignments: At the time of your deposit the best located cabin available will be assigned to you. Sometimes however, cruise lines stop assigning specific cabin numbers but will continue to sell the cabin category. What this means is you have what is called a “guaranteeâ€. You are guaranteed to get the cabin category of your choice but will not know your cabin until a few weeks or so before we sail. Often clients who get a guarantee, will be upgraded at no extra cost.

4. Pre-Cruise Hotel and Party: We have a small block of rooms put aside for our group at the Kent Hotel located at 1131 Avenue , one block off the beach. Rates are available for $95.00 per room per night which is an outstanding rate for the heart of South Beach . The Kent is a very unique and funky hotel with bold color schemes in rooms and the lobby. This three star hotel was selected for it's rate and location but is not a luxury resort. Reservations must be made by calling the Kent directly at 866-826-5268. The web site is www.thekenthotel.com .

5. Cashless Society: Any thing you purchase on the ship will be charged to your cabin account. Cash is not accepted anywhere. When checking in prior to sailing, each guest will need to leave an imprint of their credit card.

6. Ship Board Activities: The first night of every cruise we host a welcome cocktail party exclusively for our guests. This is the first time the entire group will have a chance to meet and mingle. We will make many useful announcements. Other private events are also planned for the week. Full details of these events are mailed to you about 2 – 4 weeks in advance, with your documents.

7. Dining: We have confirmed a block of tables together at 8:00PM each evening. Since the tables are ours, you may feel free to move from table to table each evening.

8. Clothing: On a seven night cruise there are generally two evenings that will require jacket and tie or a suit in the main dining room. The rest of the nights tend to be casual or informal meaning slacks (no jeans) and a button down or polo type shirt. Lunches and the Lido Buffet are always casual attire.

9. Mingling with ship’s guests: We are a group on a ship that holds 2,900 passengers. We do plan lots of activities of our own but we do also participate in many of the ships activities. In our opinion, we get the best of both worlds.

10. Shore Excursions: The ship will offer many excursions to purchase. We however, will offer at least one or two of our own including a chartered catamaran for swimming, snorkeling and fun. Our trips are usually lower priced and include more than what the ship will offer.

11. Gratuities: A daily charge of $10.00 per person will be added to your cabin account to serve as tips to porters, waiters, cabins stewards, and pool boys.

12. Getting to the Ship: Most passengers will be flying into Miami airport. You may take a taxi from the airport or you may purchase transfers from the cruise line for $16.00 per person each way. If you stay at our pre-cruise hotel, bus transfer will be provided at a nominal charge.

About the Ship

The Carnival Valor, one of the newest ships in the Carnival fleet, was launched in 2005. This visually stunning ship has plenty to offer for passengers of all ages, tastes, and backgrounds.

Spacious yet cozy staterooms loaded with pampering extras. Cabins are up to 50% larger than many other cruise lines with large closet space, bathrooms and heavenly comfortable mattresses. Most staterooms have either two twin beds or a larger queen or king size bed.

Dining on the Valor is truly a memorable experience. The international cuisine served in the main dining rooms is gourmet and a true gastronomical experience with elegant service. For a more intimate dining experience treat yourself to a night at Scarlett’s steakhouse. Or enjoy the European style café for more casual meals. The ship also offers a 24 hour pizzeria and ice cream parlor. Still hungry? Complimentary room service is also available around the clock.

Each night we are treated to a Las Vegas style review show and some of the top entertainers afloat. One of the largest casinos on the high seas beckons those who want to try their luck. There are several bars and lounges and of course, the disco. However, if more pampering is what you seek, be sure to visit the full service spa!

Regards, Vergelpowerusa dot orgSee what's free at AOL.com.

Hi, it’s Sheri Kaplan, formally from the Center for Positive

Connections.

I have hosted these life changing cruises for 10 years and wanted to make sure

you knew it is still happening even though

I am no longer associated with Positive Connections.

At the last count we have 200 reservations! It’s our biggest cruise yet

in 10 years!

Dr. Wohlfeiler, immunologist from Miami and Vergel,

national lecturer will be our keynote speakers, educating us throughout the

week. There are 2 cocktail parties, a talent show and lots of fun and games to

keep us together, including shore excursions to the ruins, cave tubing and

snorkeling. Yes we even have our own Medical Doctor coming with us for the

week, so that should comfort some of you knowing he can make cabin visits if

needed. He’s a blessing to have around and to know, you’ll see.

This cruise is open to both the straight and gay HIV positive

community and friends; meaning you can bring a friend, family member or HIV

negative partner. We are all in this together and there is strength in numbers.

and I will continue to sponsor this week long retreat at sea

with a social and educational venue every year.  You will have an opportunity

to laugh, play, forget your worry’s, pamper yourself, dance till you

drop, play in the casino, dine together or overeat from all the restaurants and

24 hour room service!, bask in the sun on the pool deck. You will make new

friends that will last a lifetime and possibly meet some one of significance….who

knows…..there is always a marriage or two from every cruise.

has a few cabins left at our group

rate price. After they are all sold out, he can still get you on the boat but

there will be a price increase based on the going rate from the cruise ship. So

don’t snoozes or you will loose?

I sure hope to see some faces from the

past, hey its our 10th year reunion, you don’t want to miss

it! Come out and play with me!

Remember to Live life to the fullest, love

safely and laugh frequently

Sheri Kaplan
