, I forgot to include that we originally seen Dr. , in the Immunology

dept. at the Childrens Hospital of PA. She sent us for all genetic fever

disorders testing. After the testing had come back we were referred to the

Rheumatology depart. at CHOP. Hope this helps. In the very early stages of

trying to diagnose my son, we seen an infectious Disease doc. at

Hospital in NJ. She said that we should just throw our thermometers out, and

that my son would be fine. Sorry to say but, my sons fevers continued every 21

days for 2 years more. We don't really use any docs from NJ anymore, b/c we

have had much better success using CHOP.

Hi ,

The doctor I saw at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's name is Dr.

Kim.  He is an infectious disease doctor.  I don't have the phone number right

now...left it in my office...but I think it is 215-590-2549.  Let me know how

you make out.  I have a follow up appointment on 10/20....let me know how you

make out.  I feel for you...my son's fevers are every 21 days...we just started

an episode today.  I am devasted....another day of leaving work...another night

of no sleep and just stressing to watch him go through this..

Hello . I am not sure how you are feeling with your ID doc, but the good

thing with CHOP is that everything is in there system, so which ever specialist

you see they all have access to your childs records. If you are interested in

having genetic testing done then I would definately make an appt. to see Dr

. I know it takes a little while to get an appt. The Immunology Dept.

phone number is 215-590-2549. Please let me know how you make out.

I see an amazing Rheumatologist in St. Barnabas in Livingston, NJ. She is sooooo

informed about and has helped my daughter immensly.

Dr. Chalom.

If you say it is an emergency, she will fit you in, in about a week.

Best of luck.

Fern.

thanks Fern... I'm not sure where that is, I'm in South Jersey.

Did you have to see your regular pediatrician first?

, you should definately keep a log of all fevers. I keep track of when

the fever started, his symptoms, how long it lasted, and also how he was right

before the fever. I just bought one of those planners with a calender to help

me keep track. I've seen many different specialist from CHOP for other problems

my son has. I feel very fortunate to live in South Jersey and have such an

excellent hospital so close. I hope you have as good of experience witn CHOP

like my family has. If you need anything else please don't hesitate to ask.

Good luck, and let me know how you make out.
