Guest guest
Anita,You report that " the mood has improved enough to remove almost all meds " . And we are worrying about the training protocol...why? That sounds like a pretty slick response. Are you doing HEG training for the frontal slowing? The asymmetry is almost gone and the mood has improved enough to remove almost all meds. The slow frequency problems persist. I did the typical theta squash with Alpha reward initially. A/T ratios are .73 at F3 and .74 at F4 EC. Initially they were .55 and .54 respectively.

Guest guest
I am continuing to use these protocols to finish removing the meds and continue the slowing work. I guess I want to make sure my thinking isn't crazy. Yes, it seems to be working to me, but sometimes I worry I am not thinking straight and may look up and realize I've made a mistake. Does the logic seem reasonable to you so I can continue to use it if it's working? I mean I did win that protocol award after all so I want a second opinion.I don't have HEG equipment, sure wish I did. No job, no spare money.-NitaFrom: Van Deusen <pvdtlc@...>Subject: Re: Fw: Re: Protocols and talking affecting F4 Date: Wednesday, March 4, 2009, 6:29 PM Anita,You report that "the mood has improved enough to remove almost all meds". Guest guest
Well, if the goal is for the client to get better, and the client is getting better, I'm not sure what the mistake would be. Your client was on meds for depression. Presumably the client is feeling better and noticing changes. The left frontal slowing would certainly be a likely culprit in depression as would the alpha reversal, so working on those makes a lot of sense. The protocol award was simply an indicator of creativity. Not every new idea is a good idea, but creativity in a field like NF should be valued.Pete-- Van Deusenpvdtlc@... http://www.brain-trainer.com305/433-3160The Learning Curve, Inc. Guest guest
Anita, Until you win the weekly lotto and buy an HEG machine, there are some 2nd best options for helping to shift those stubborn low waves in the prefrontal lobe. 1. A poor man's HEG is the book "Train Your Brain: 60 Days to a Better Brain" and then "Train Your Brain More: 60 Days to an Even Better Brain", both by Dr. Ryuta Kawashima. These are a series of sequential daily mind exercises which boost frontal and prefrontal lobe functioning. Good, cheap exercises for shifting those stubborn low waves (each book is about $10.00) Another option (for significantly more money but much less than HEG) is the Nintendo DS and the game "Brain Age", based on the same research as the books mentioned above. This will cost you (or the patient) roughly $140. The advantage to both of these

Guest guest
Yes, she suffered from depression and anxiety.. There is a mix of that still there, but not too much. I will keep working until it is gone and hopefully that last little bit of meds are also. Thanks for the encouragement.
