Guest guest
Really concerned about Lyme's disease and it's effects? Why not consult with folks who know their business, such as Dr. Vilensky, a Bastyr University trained Naturopath and an expert in managing this disease. She works with Dr. Foley at Minnesota Natural Medicine in Vadnais Heights (St. ), MN. For more info, log on to www.MinnesotaNaturalMedicine.com. M. Guest guest
I would not wait. I would go to urgent care/ER -- and keep going back until you leave with preferably a 28 day course. If you get 10 days or 21 days, go fill it and start taking. Then " lose it " and call doctor for refill. I'm guessing by now docs know Lyme patients do this. But they may allow a refill anyway. My sister lately had good luck getting her childs pediatrician to write for 28 days for Lyme (sadly chronic by now). BUT the pharmacy refused to fill it! So the doc wrote a 21 day-er and will (hopefully) repeat. Just find a way to do 28 days minimum. Anything to do with Lyme is a ridiculous labyrinth so I would fight like heck now to be rid of it for good. Restoring gut health from abx is serious business -- but a year of focus is waaaay better than a lifetime of managing a disease like this. Get abx any way you can right away please (and support gut through it). I don't mean to be an alarmist -- but I do wish someone slapped me silly when I stuck with the docs wait and see approach. Every hour counts. . The second time I did 20 days and the symptoms went away except for a persistently stiff and sore neck. The neck problem lasted for months until about 2 months after switching to a traditional foods diet. My suspicion is that my improvement is due to the anti-viral properties of coconut oil (and I eat 4 Tbsp per day minimum) and the protective and anti-inflamatory properties of raw milk, cream and butter. And I eat lots of those! Just ask If it was my child, and I have 3 that are constantly in the woods, I would do the full course of antibiotics AND get him or her every traditional food related to immunity and and anti-inflamation. Untreated Lyme's becomes a lifelong debilitating illness. BTW, my Lyme's test always came back negative. Don't trust a negative. Look and treat based on the symptoms. Gene Last Sunday we picked our 3 kids up from grandparents house. They spent much of their time outside in woods. Needless to say they had plenty of wood ticks but no deer ticks detected. My youngest was sick the day we picked him up. Throwing up and diarrhea. Following day my oldest son same thing. Last wednesday my husband noticed a mark on my oldest sons leg. He thought it was ring worm so put lotrimin on it not thinking much about it. But later that day it hit me that maybe it might be the classic bulls eye rash of Lyme. So we made doc apt for Thursday morning and of coarse the rash was gone. They took blood to test for Lyme but of coarse it's not back yet. All day yesterday he felt yucky and same with this morning so we took him back to doc. She wants to put him on Amox for 20 days just because of circumstances. So I'm completely torn on what to do. Don't want to give him antibiotics unless I know he has Lyme and even if it does come back negative I've heard that those tests cannot be very reliable. In that case my understanding is that early treatment of antibiotics is the best option. Does anyone know of a good doc that specialized in Lyme? Any chance there is anyone available over the weekend? Would waiting until Monday to start treatment decrease his chance of full recovery if he is positive for it? So many questions Ahhhhh. I can't seem to find some of the recent posts about Lyme. Thanks in advance! -- Cell 612.386.4240

Guest guest
Natasha you are correct thank you.
