Beth, thanks for sharing all this fantastic information! The nice thing about

this kind of detox/protection is that it helps us neutralize OTHER pollution,

pesticides and toxins in the air, water and food. It's common sense, and we

would have no reason not to do as many of these things as we can.

I find it terribly sad that one outcome of the Japanese tragedy is that it has

brought all these DEFENDERS OF POLLUTION out of the woodwork! Even here,

supposedly a bastion of people interested in clean living, good food and the

creation of healthy families! To make their strange point, they are

regurgitating so much misinformation, like telling us that the radiation from

countertops, from the streets of San Francisco, and other ambient sources is the

same kind of radiation that you get from leakage from a fusion nuclear plant!

It seems that the governmental and industry hacks have 1984'ed the public so

cleverly that now we have hypnotized citizens sprouting up to DEFEND the

plethora of high risk policies that Big Brother has unleashed upon us.... " Bad,

you see, is actually Good... " That's even more scary than the direct propaganda

from the paid professional hacks themselves!

You can't afford to go back to sleep,

Will Winter

I can't speak for Dr. Cowan but my guess is that he's referring to the large

dose of KI that is indicated for remediation of exposure to radiation, which at

150 mg is higher than we use for daily dosage with Ioderol. That's " aggressive " .

While Ioderol tablets are only dry blank pills soaked in Lugol's Solution, they

contain the various iodine-bearing components of Lugol's. It's made using one

part elemental iodine and two parts KI and once it goes into water, the

elemental iodine is compounded to triiodide and therefore changed.

Nobody treats Ioderol use lightly, especially Dr. Brownstein, and the dosages

are usually either kept low or titrated carefully for each individual patient.

Tiny amounts of IODINE are required for all life, but, like all the trace

minerals, it must remain a tiny dose, otherwise it's toxic. His book is highly

recommended and you can get a free copy if you order 5 bottles of Ioderol from

breastcancerchoices.org.

Will and others interested in radiation and preventive use of iodine:

There is a local, SW Twin Cities CCN (Certified Clinical Nutritionist)

whom I've met and from whom I have securing some supplements. His name

is Byron s. He has been practicing for over 25 years and has

his own line of products. This includes a water soluble form of Iodine

that apparently does not accumulate in our bodies as would some of the

other forms. I'm not a chemist, much lest a biochemist, so I'm only

giving you my amateur understanding. As a professional scientist and

practitioner, I'd welcome your comments after studying his web site

and many articles on human health and wellbeing, possibly even

communicating with him, especially because he is also so near and

accessible. His web site is: www.wellnessresources.com. - M.

, I heartily second your mention of Byron. I have been buying supplements

from Byron for some 20 years, and have much respect for him. He started his own

supplement line sometime ago and uses high quality ingredients.
