Guest guest
Go Judith!!!! Thanks so much for putting this altogether. Michele ________________________________ From: JudithB <jbonhiver@...> Sent: Sun, December 12, 2010 7:38:03 AM Subject: Message submitted to Governor Elect Dayton I submitted this message to Governor Elect Dayton today. I hope I have gotten all my facts straight. Judy ---------------------------------------------------------- I have recently returned to live in Minnesota and am saddened to see what seems to be happening to the small farmers and individuals who grow foods and want to sell them to private individuals from their farms. I have recently learned of the confiscation of products purchased on a farm, as they were being delivered to individuals who purchased these products. Now those families who had paid for yogurt, cheese, meats, eggs and milk will have to figure out how to get that food from the Department of Agriculture. And the costs to that farmer are immeasurable. I hope once you are sworn into office (or maybe before then…) you will investigate this situation and talk with folks from all sides of the issue to get to the bottom of why the Hartmann family (owner of the farm) is being harassed and why they are not being able to deliver the foods which had been purchased on their farm (not off their farm). I believe no laws were broken by the Hartmanns nor their customers. The Minnesota Constitution establishes certain basic rights including Article 13, section 7 which provides: Sec. 7. NO LICENSE REQUIRED TO PEDDLE. Any person may sell or peddle the products of the farm or garden occupied and cultivated by him without obtaining a license therefor. Please help stop the harassment of small farmers and consider removing Gene Hugoson as commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. He has supported his agents who have apparently been bringing false or at least misleading information to various judges in various counties in order to get warrants to damage the business of this small farmer (and from what I understand, other farmers, as well). It is disturbing to me that these government officials have been able to manipulate the laws in this manner and I believe an investigation of his conduct and his agents conduct is called for. The two agents who have been providing false information to the various judges are Mitterholzer and Roettger and I believe both of these individuals need be investigated. Through that investigation I believe you will determine that they need to be fired for abuse of the legal system and violation of the civil rights. Sincerely, Judith Bonhiver
