You are in no condition to start treatment. Some one else recently said she was starting treatment with a history of depression and a suicide attempt. I don't remember who it was but I told her definitely don't do treatment. I know it's a personal choice, but sometimes it seems so obvious that they shouldn't treat. Also obvious that some doctors are still lining their own pockets by pushing drugs. Doctors are practicing' on you. Use with caution...r It's a pleasure having you join in our conversations. Guest guest Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Sylvia-thank you for your candor. It is so important to stay informed and make good decisions. If I had been more informed, I might have picked up on some of the problems that I was having and associated it with hep c or a liver condition. The MDs do not generally look at a complete med history in depth and must not have much experience with hep c patients. I really appreciate you letting me know and encourage any other information you may have. I am doing better now (I think) although I do use great caution in cooking or doing anything that may be dangerous if I forget. A lot of the problems I have are being brought up in this group, so maybe there are more issues to do with the HCV than TBI. My thought at this point, is that if I go on the clinical trials, at least they will give me an anti-depressant an monitor me closer. Right now I feel pretty much that I am on my own to figure out what is going on and what is causing it. Thanks again to all for such knowledgeable and caring advise. Im glad you spoke up! jax silvianursey <Bhprice425@...> wrote: Okay....I'm going to say it because if I don't I would feel guilty. Dear : A recent brain injury that may be causing mental confusion turns on flashing red lights in MY mind. I would consider it a contraindication for starting treatment UNLESS you get cleared by a neurologist.....someone who specializes in this and can assure you that it is SAFE for you to take the treatment. I didn't say it before because I probably would have scared you and everybody would have beaten me up.....LOL But a doctor who doesn't give you much information and doesn't listen to your complaints of mental confusion has no bussiness treating you. If I remember correctly, he's putting you in a study. He knows you have some mental confusion so that means he's violating the guidelines for obtaining an informed consent. Clearly, he doesn't have your best interest at heart....dump him! You deserve much better. I hope I didn't upset you. Silvia > Thank you all for the great information lately. Many of the symptoms discussed on this site is helpful since I was not sure of the ones related to my brain injury and those related to hcv. (I may have written this before and apologize if I am repeating.) The aches, pains, and mental confusion is extremely hard to discuss with anyone and no one really wants to hear it. My MD has not given me much information so I have to find out through others as in this group. I am very worried about starting the therapy next month, but find some relief in knowing what others are going through that have started on it. Thank you all again for the information.
