Hi Hope,

is a chiropractor here that specializes (by my estimate) in

pregnant women and children. She has always helped me with my diet, but I

do not think she does testing and obviously can't give as much guidance as a

nutritionist. Anyone, doesn't Becca here do nutritional counseling? Does

she do testing?

I also have a trad food friendly doula, but obviously not a mid wife. (I

have had a high risk pregnancy so I have to stick with a perinatal group, so

I did not get very far looking at midwives, however if you end up needing a

doula, I really like mine.)

HTH

I would suggest finding a nourishing traditions / naturopath to help you

manage your diet. I believe supplements have their role.

I followed a WAP diet from prepregnancy. Turns out postpartum, i was

allergic to coconut anything, eggs, etc. It turns out my digestion was not

as solid as i had expected. Pregnancy reveals a lot of hidden weaknesses

with the body. Without a " guide " i'd say it's very easy to miss the signs.

Good Luck!

PS also, hindsight 20/20, i would also do an " expert " directed cleanse.

Someone like greg steiner would be great for this, i suppose a coop would

also be a good starting point. I *thought* i'd detoxed, it turns out after

6 months taking this program, it did nothing better than destroy my gut

bacteria. i definitely did NOT find the right cleanse. Now that i'm

breastfeeding, it's going to be a long time before i can do a major flush.

PPS Look into the group newwaphb which focuses on children friendly

WAP topics.

PPPS: If you don't have your iron level checked now, i recommend floradix

liquid iron to build up your levels prepregnancy. Then tone down/eliminate

during pregnancy. It's a great way to make sure you've got solid levels of

iron before all the other complicating nutirtional issues come into play.

There's enough to stress about, address/eliminate this issue early on.
