My family uses Purecalm from Native Remedies (www.nativeremedies) with

tremendous success. We also use mindsoothe, jr but that raises seratonin levels

so it may not be a good mix if prozac is still in her system. The purecalm works

immediately (5 min) and it literally has been a lifesaver for my son. You can

use it 3x day.

It is nice to know you CAN go back on the prozac if you choose to. I know it

is a horrible thing to see your child suffer. We have certainly all been there.

Kindest Regards,

Thanks and !

I emailed Dr. Penzel and much to my surprise he wrote back just 2 hours

later! He also agreed that 1 tsp (500 mg) 3x a day would be the max dose for her

age. And once we work up to that dose we should give it another 2-3 weeks. To

tell you the truth, I don't think that we can wait that long. She is having

a terrible time with anxiety and more OCD symptoms since being off the Prozac.

I'm not sure what we will do. This is the worst its been since first being

diagnosed 3 years ago. I'm so concerned and discouraged! I'm thinking about

putting her back on a low dose of prozac just to take the edge off, then pray

that I find someone who knows what they are doing. There are so many herbs and

amino acids that look promising, but since prozac is still in her system, her

psychiatrist is very leary of combining. He just has no experience with

natural remedies and now he made me afraid to try any of them for at least a

month

(which is the 1/2 life of prozac). We don't have that kind of time.......Oh,

I'm so discouraged. I wish I could take this away from her. As mothers, we

can bandage a cut, wipe their tears, console when their friends hurt

them......but this OCD monster is so terrible! Thanks for " listening " . This is

the

only place I can go where I know others are going through the same thing!!
