- I will have a word with the tooth fairy and see if she cannot

leave extra tonight :o))

On the plus side, Nick has wanted a nintendo DS ever since they came

out a couple of years ago, hes been saving his allowance and begging

me to get him one. I got one last week but kept it hidden and gave

it to him when he got home with daddy from the dentist. He was so

excited, he hugged me so tight I thought he was going to choke me!!

It helped take his mind off things, poor kid had so much blood

coming out of his mouth he gave up with the gauze and just rammed

wads of kitchen towels in his mouth!!! I should have taken a picture

of him playing his new game with 1/2 roll paper hanging out of his

mouth.

His mouth is sore, it looks sore, his face is swollen and he points

to where its sore ( all four corners of his mouth) but still will

not take a tylenol as he says its not too bad. These kids sure have

a high pain threshold.

Hi Helen,

I remember when i was around nick's age and I had to get 6 teeth

pulled. I ended up getting a horrible sore throat and couldn't even

swallow my own saliva....Yes, Nick is one TOUGH cookie!

That would have been a good pic with the wadded up paper towles and

him playing his new nintendo. lol

Hope he continues to do ok.

Helen:

I haven't been able to keep up much lately, but give Nick gentle hugs

from us. Tell him Rob had 4 wisdom teeth cut out yesterday morning, and

he drooled blood all over his cd player on the way home. It took us

several hours to get the bleeding to stop. He also was wild coming out of

the sedation and hit his dad in the arm! Very grouchy then, but a sweetie

now. His face is swollen up so tell Nick he has a friend who looks the

same! Rob is supposed to work at Target tomorrow night, and I am trying

to get him to stay home, but he is insisting he wont.

He's off his Enbrel and MTX for 2 weeks. The pulmonologist had us give

him 50 mg of pred the night before the extractions, and then they gave

him some IV solu medrol during. I am not sure if that is their protocol

or if his rheumy suggested that. Anyway, his joints ought to feel pretty

good right now...but we'll see how he does off the Enbrel.

Also tell Nick congrats on the DS, it means so much more when you've

saved for something and earned it yourself. Way to go Nick!

Poor Nick! I had almost ALL of my baby teeth pulled because they

wouldn't come out...I only pulled 2 of my own teeth. I think the most I

had pulled at one time was my 4 front teeth...which sucked so I know he

feels really bad! :-)

Hope he is feeling better really soon!

--Hi ,

Hugs to Rob!!! Wisdom teeth are no fun!

Nick didnt get any extra prednisone or anti-biotics. I had called

the rheumys office last week to check on it and the nurse acted like

I was asking the most stupid questions on the face of the earth. I

had always thought that if kid who has been on prednisone long term

should get extra pred in the event of surgery or a truma. I must be

mistaken or ripping 6 teeth out of a tiny mouth is not a " truma "

Nick is doing awesome, he went off to school this morning as happy

as a lark. Of course he still had the grin on his face from finding

a $10 bill from the tooth fairy. Its a heck of a gummy smile

though :o))))

I hope Rob is feeling as good as Nick...

Hi Helen. Was the nurse Betty by any chance? I don't like calling and asking

her questions because I often feel like that when I talk to her. Glad to hear

Nick is feeling better. Kim

How right you are, . That is exactly what we did/had to do and we really

weren't asking for anything besides a full day program. Myah is 6 and the school

wanted her in pre-k, only 4 days a week (typically 1/2 days, but they would

stretch to a full day). All that we wanted was a mixture of pre-k and k to

create a full time plan with opportunities in both. As a matter of fact it was

the princiapl who planted the idea on us and then came back and " couldn't

remember " any of it...lol We did not sign and walked out of the first IEP. They

did the same thing to us. It was something like 7 on 2. That was pure

intimidation, which I do not mind. I sit in meetings all day with doctors to

talk about their money. :) I called them to tell them to have 2 extra seats

ready for the next meeting; one for the advocate and the other for our attorney.

Needless to say, they came prepared with just the plan we had asked for. lol We

have not had to do this again and it seems like they now understand that we are

not unreasonable, but will not take crap.

Good luck. Stand for what you believe.

I have tried to send 3 of Nancie's posts to the group, this morning, however, they didn't work. So I had to forward them to myself and then send them to the group.

I want to apologize for the confrontation between Nancie and myself. I despise confrontations and in my past, I would avoid or run from them. It was a lesson for me to learn. In the past, I have handled them off group for the most part. However, since it happened on the group again, I dealt with it on the group. Hope it didn't offend any of you.

Some of the group members, in the past, have messaged me personally, that they were fearful of posting on the group, due to her reactions. Nancie, unfortunately, chose to leave the group.

I am not against discussions, even those that do not agree with what I think. This group is about learning and discussions help all of us to learn, including myself. I encourage All, that have had contrary experiences with anything posted on the group, to please share. You may not be the only one, since we all have different life styles and makeups. However, I do not like debates and find them un-necessary.

Blessings and Love, Joy

Thank you Joy for all you do. These are lessons not only for you, but for all of us. You did the best you knew how to, and you are wonderful. Sharing is caring Blessings, MicheleJoyce Hudson <bjoyful@...> wrote: I have tried to send 3 of Nancie's posts to the group, this morning,

, It is hard to get on a plan and stay on it. Planning is essential in any plan that you choose. I have been bad about not planning and then I fall off the wagon. It is hard. You can do it. I am like you, I want to have lost and be losing by the time 2009 rolls around. Good luck with whatever plan you choose.

From: Jase0157@... <Jase0157@...>Subject: Update.100-plus , Timexchicks Date: Tuesday, July 8, 2008, 9:26 AM

Denial what a beautiful and dangerous thing. Hubby and I had a conversation the other day about perfect weight. My comment was he thought I was overweight at my wedding. AND GOD look at me now. So what must he think. MIND you I didn't gain gain until I had kids. AND stopped working. EVEN my daughter laughed at him about the wedding comment.

It seems the more I soul search the more weight I gain. I am reading body clutter and then I hit a road block when I bring all the questions in my head up. Example yesterday weighed in at 255. Was good all day until PM and had popcorn with butter. WHY... AND truth I sat there and debated about having it. AND then the next thing I knew I made it and ate it. If it was possible to black out and then when you come to HOW DID I EAT that, that is what I would blame.

I know a lot of my mind issues are my own fault. I cant get passed the fact that I have been overweight for 13 yrs and have not been able to lose and stay a loser. I am at my highest ever. I know if I am honest with myself I need to lose to save my marriage and my sanity. More health issues are showing there ugly head. So the plan AGAIN is. BASICS and baby steps.

NEED TO JOURNAL...

NEED TO MOVE...

NEED TO DRINK WATER...

NEED TO BE ACCOUNTABLE. ..

NEED TO PLAN...

We are half way thru the year. I dont want to make a 2009 weight loss plan. I already want one in place and the scale be moving.

Had DD #2 birthday saturday. Got to hold little . It killed me seeing how they handle that little guy. BUT as hubby says I have to let them make there mistakes. They believe in letting a baby cry OR scream. I DONT not when all he wants is to be held.

Tomorrow hubby is taking day off and I am going to ear dr and will update this week. I will try to do better in the email department.

The man needs a good swift kick in the you-know-whats! Or tell him his

other you-know-what used to be a lot bigger but looks so small *

shriveled now. See how *he* likes it when someone comments on his

appearance! LOL

> It seems the more I soul search the more weight I gain.

The updated Overcoming Overeating book came out last week in mass market

paperback, so it's only $7, cheaper in stores that discount paperback

books, I guess. It delves into emotional eating, which sounds like what

you're going through right now. Check it out.

> I know a lot of my mind issues are my own fault.

And a husband who reminds you of your weight every chance he gets, it

seems.

I cant get passed the fact

> that I have been overweight for 13 yrs and have not been able to lose

and

, I've been overweight since the day I was born @ 10 pounds! The

weight doesn't want to come off, much less stay off, even when I was an

active tomboy and ate only 1000 calories. It's much harder now, at age

54 and menopausal. But that's no excuse for me not to make healthy food

choices. Or to stop exercising. Even if the numbers on the scale never

change I know I have to eat healthy to stay healthy.

You're going through a lot of hormal problems the past few years, and

perhaps they were simmering under the surface for those 13 years. That

alone can contribute to your lack of easy weight loss. Your doc is still

trying to get things regulated. Maybe once you get on the right meds

things will work out better for you on the scale.

But in the mean time, tell your husband to shut his mouth and keep his

opinions to himself and ignore what he does say. Eat healthy foods, get

some exercise, drink your water, and (your favorite) journal, journal,

journal.

Find other things to do when your emotions come to the surface. Take up

a hobby that keeps your hands busy - learn to knit or crochet, grab some

colored pencils or crayons and go on-line and find coloring book pages

to print out and fill in. Dover books has loads that are appropriate for

adults and they have lots of free stuff at their web site.

Yep.

Is his mom the s-i-l from hell? She finally had her miracle baby? How is

*she* doing (I'm afraid to ask)?

I hope it's just a routine visit and not the prelude to more surgery!

How did it go?

amen sue! i'm still a noob so i didn't want to say anything, but i was thinking the same thing, lol. julie i don't know you or your situation very well, but that's unacceptable behavior from anyone & especially someone who is supposed to love, honor, & cherish you. no wonder you have had so many emotional issues going on. it seems a lot of ppl don't feel they deserve to be treated any better, but they do. you just have to let the ppl around you know you will not be disrespected.

my mother used to be very critical of me & i put up with it for a long time because i thought if my mother said those things about me they must be true. but when i finally had to get professional help for clinical depression i learned that i am better than that & confronted my mother. from there she was able to confront her own issues & we were able to begin building a healthy(er) relationship. ppl like that are really just reflecting their own issues onto others. maybe your husband needs to start working on his own issues & stop taking it out on you.

but what do i know, i'm far too stubborn & independent minded to ever let some man rope me into marriage:~)

I worry for this child. Not just the mom but the dad. They just don't get it. reminds me let them make there own mistakes. BUT as I said most things that come out of her mouth are LYES... If this kid survives being raised by them he is going to be one strong kid.

Forget mistakes. Forget failures. Forget everything except what you're going to do now and do it. Today is your lucky day.--Will Durant

** You can do this, ! Like Will Durant says: Forget the mistakes, failures, etc of the past. Just start fresh. I think that's why so many people struggle for so long with this, they keep looking at their past attempts to lose weight and how those failed and can't or don't move past it.

You said you need to lose weight to save your marriage? I'm sorry, that is very sad to me if your dh is that shallow to base a relationship on the outward. I'm sure we've asked before and the answer is probably "no" but have you guys considered counseling of some kind?

If he won't go, have you considered speaking with someone on your own? If money is an issue, communities usually have some kind of program that you can get into on a sliding fee. Maybe healthcare overs it. Maybe his employer covers it (but then again, maybe that is only for the actual employee). I can't remember what ours is called, but if we are dealing with issues, work will get involved if it helps to get/keep us productive.

(( HUGS )) and prayers going your way!!

LOL suggested and NO WAY was the answer. With me I wish I could BUT with only one car now it is so hard. If I have a car come Sept. I may do that during the day. Just to have someone to vent to. I would be embarrassed to vent here. Even though occasionally I have. Love the quote. I am going to print it and put it in my journal.
