Guest guest Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 Hi everyone, My names Ingrid and I am new to this site. I am thinking of getting a lap band in the new year but realise I hardly know anything about it at all. I only saw a doctor (Dr Ron Peach) on Wednesday and he really didn't tell me much about the after diet, lifestyle change at all, only about the surgery, and how good I would look afterwards. I am 167cm tall and weigh 96kg. I have always had a problem with weight and have tried every diet around. After reading a lot of posts on here and Ozband site I now have a hundred questions, worries about the whole idea, although I want to loose weight, and need to for myself and family, I had no idea about all the vomiting, foods to avoid, etc. My question is did people who have had lapband surgery have more information from their surgeon before hand, or do you find out all this information after you have it done?? Also, mums out there, do you find it hard to cook normal meals for your families while only having a tiny bit of different food for yourselves. Also, has anyone had their surgery by Dr Ron Peach, I cannot find any information out about him on the web. He operates at Southwest Private Hospital in Sydney. Thanks and sorry for all these questions. I am just in a bit of shock at the moment with all this new information. Thanks so much everyone. Ingrid Quote
