We just got released from the hospital today for an acute illness that started Friday with fever up to 105. She was sick with an ear infection just 2 wks prior and on antibiotics which ended a Thurs and she started with fever again the next day. The ID doctor said her labs are ok and is thinking . We, like many of you, are very distressed about her chronic and frequent problems. So many times she has been through the whole work up of labs and chest xrays to rule out things and nothing is ever found. My questions/concerns are: Are they always every 30 days? For Ava in the course of15 illnesses, she had 10 with fever and no other apparent source of infection and was told VIRAl...only five were a true diagnosed illness. With this recent hospitalization her white count started at 39K but then to 20K within two days and normal now that fever broke. Have you all been through the same with labs? Did they rule out cancers? And if so, how? You can email me directly if you don't want to post your whole story again! I look forward to this site being a great resource of information and support.
