My little girl went through all the hometown CBCs with no luck. Finally we went

to Devoss childrens Hospital in Michigan to an IDS who drew a bunch of blood in

one visit. These specialists rule out all the stuff they need to and then say

(diagnosis by exclusion). The diagnosis took one visit but the test for

cyclic nuetropenia involved six weeks of weekly blood draws( lots of fun).

Im bec and im almost 13 and i have had for almost a year.

I have had about 28 - 30 PAGES of blood work done! you name it

Iv had 3 sets of blood coltures, 6 bottles!!! all the immune ones you

can think of! A urine test for Dutch fever syndrom that has to be sent

away for 6 weeks.

Iv stopped having them for now, YAY!!! but if i dont start to get

better its more blood work for me! also i have been on colchicine for 2

months and steroids for almost 2 months, and if they dont work it may

be a T & a Removal!!!!

Anyway good luck to you and Mikey!!

>Bec and Steve, thank you so much for your feedback. I just cannot

believe the amount of blood work you have had to endure. I just can't

imagine putting my 4 year old through all of that. I'm hoping that if

these fevers keep coming and they rule out Cyclic Neut.; we'll opt for

the T & a removal. From the research I've done on the internet, it

looks as if the T & a removal helped in 9 out of 11 cases, and

drastically lowered the effects of the if it didn't cause it to

stop completely. Anyway, Thank you again for sharing!!-Jenn
