Guest guest Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Haha, no will then. I got the soluable Panadol (didn't know they existed), thanks. I presume I will need it because during the operation they will fix my hiatus hernia, as well, which means stitches on the oesophagus (or however you spell that one :-) ). Thanks again - wish I were a week older! Guest guest Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 So J... you are all set! Did you get all the liquid bits as well... lots of V8 juice, lots of apple & blackcurrent juice (I lived on that) and lots of those soups - you will be so good at making things delicious by the end of your fluid stage you won't believe how clever you are. I made tomato soup with curry powder in it for flavour. Roast pumpkin with sour cream. Zucchini with pamersan cheese (fresh only - it must melt). You'll get the hang of it in no time, and then you will be on to the mushy stage. Guest guest Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Hi Mel Thanks for that - you actually answered an old question of mine which I've been meaning to ask: how about spices? But it sounds good, if you can make tomato soup with curry powder, then my life is saved :-). Thanks for those ideas, i am sure I'll find myself inventive. I have one scary thought: while I got away without having to go on the Optifast diet, I will suffer for it because I am going in hospital following a few last-chance binges and I will be SO HUNGRY! Serves me right. All that eating. Anyway, will survive. Thanks again. J > > > > > So J... you are all set! Guest guest Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Hi J, I have popped some info in the post for you today! Hopefully you should receive it tomorrow. I wouldn't be too worried about being hungry when you first come out of your op. It was the LAST thing on my mind for about the first 5 days. But I would have to agree with Mel about the pumpkin soup. I pretty much lived on my dad's home made stuff. Went down a treat. Good luck with it all. I am sure you will be FINE.
