It's going to be an exciting time once you get some fill. I say that half tongue in cheek because you have all heard us moan about not being able to eat and then being able to eat too much… anyway. You will be fine; you perhaps won't feel too much restriction on your first fill. Most find it takes 2-3 fills to discover the wonders of not being able to eat. In any case, you know you will be fine, do what the surgeon says to do post fill. Some (like mine) put you on fluids then moosh for 24 hrs. This is a good idea as it lets you get accustomed to the restriction you have. But please be guided by the professional!

Let us know how you get on!

Well here I am all " filled " up (of saline that is - not food). I got

to my surgeons office yesterday and started to get realllllllllly

nervous (worse than I was about my op). I had images of a poor girls

story where some doctor had used 5 wrong needles on her and she'd left

a bruised mess. But then when I got in to the consulting room I was

ok. My surgeon is great and has a good way of making you feel at ease.

The procedure was WAY less painless than I had imagined and I had 1.5

ml put in. I only found out yesterday that he had put the band in with

2.5 ml in already (something I wish I'd known earlier - only because I

probably would have lost more weight and been more catious about what

I ate). Anyhow, I have a total of 4 mls in and not feeling MUCH

restriction but I have another appointment in 3 weeks for another

fill. My surgeon clarified my weight loss to date - it is 8 kilos

(there was some confusion about whether my start weight was 132 or

136) but it's 136 and I'm now at 128.

So I can say that my first fill was no where near as bad as I had

though and 24 hours later I have had no problems eating (a bit of

indegestion from eating to fast is about the worst it gets). I only

hope the rest of my life with a band will be as easy as it's been to

date (TOUCH WOOD!)
