Guest guest
Kim, I knew there was a brother connection going on there, but I couldn't remember Robison's name when I was trying to find his book at B & N last weekend. Thank you for providing his name! Is the title of the book, " Look Me In the Eyes " , or am I confused again? I hope that the event on Sunday is a success! I will have to read Augusten's books one of these days. > > > > > > > > > > Guffaw. In adolescents and higher weight children, treatment should be initiated with a dose of 10 mg/day. After 2 weeks, the dose should be increased to 20 mg/day. Additional dose increases may be considered after several more weeks if insufficient clinical improvement is observed. A dose range of 20 to 60 mg/day is recommended. In lower weight children, treatment should be initiated with a dose of 10 mg/day. Additional dose increases may be considered after several more weeks if insufficient clinical improvement is observed. A dose range of 20 to 30 mg/day is recommended. Guest guest
It is not indicated for autism so it must be investigated (trials) similar to a new drug. Orphan Drugs: " The Office of Orphan Products Development (OOPD) of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has long recognized pediatric patients as " therapeutic orphans " due to the lack of adequate pediatric dosing information among drugs that are on the market. This issue has been addressed, in part, by the pediatric exclusivity provision of the Food and Drug Administration Modernization Act (FDAMA) of 1997,1 and more recently by the mandatory Final Rule promulgated by the FDA on December 2, 1998.2 The pediatric exclusivity was reauthorized in 2002, and is scheduled to sunset in 2007.3 Therefore, OOPD encourages drug sponsors to give attention to the multiple economic incentive provisions of the Orphan Drug Act4 including tax credits for clinical research and waiver of Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) application fee, and to obtain orphan-drug designation of a drug or biological product intended for pediatric use. The designated orphan drug or biological product is entitled to seven years of orphan-drug marketing exclusivity upon its approval for pediatric use. Additionally, the sponsor should also consider Orphan Drug Grants Program, which provides research grants to defray the cost of pediatric clinical testing expenses. Guest guest
Anacat, Wow, I really have to read the book now just out of curiosity! And I was not aware that the Holocaust began in that manner. Just when you thought you had learned all that was needed to know of the Horrors of Hitler. I am not surprised, but it still makes my gut wrench. What's scary is that I can see many of the freaks of today doing what Hitler did, to varying degrees, if they were put in the position of power to do so. Just imagine what our lives would be like if Offit or other like-minded idiots were given that kind of power! > > > > > > > > > > Guffaw. Guest guest
After all that blah-blah-blah, it seems that whichever company gets this drug approved as an orphan drug for another usage, stands to gain fiscally, in that it will have the rights to this for some years to come (no matter how the children will/may suffer as a result). Am I reading this correctly? Guest guest
That might be the literature, I'm just talking commonsense. If 10mgs is the normal amount for a grown 200lb man, then 5 mg for, say a 40lb 5 yr old is way too much. My daughter NEVER got/gets over 2.5/mg of paxil. > > Re: Dosage of Prozac, does not mention autism > > Pediatric (children and adolescents) — In the controlled clinical trial > of fluoxetine supporting its effectiveness in the treatment of OCD, > patients were administered fluoxetine doses in the range of 10 to 60 > mg/day. > > In adolescents and higher weight children, treatment should be > initiated with a dose of 10 mg/day. Guest guest
Hardly so, in fact the final solution was originally engineered as a manner of killing disabled children by German eugenic/genetic psychiatrists, killings which were observed by the whole of German psychiatric society. And eugenics was conceived, initiated and first practiced right here in America and exported to Germany. The think tank for eugenics was right here on Long Island in Cold Spring Harbor, now the national laboratory, and the lead research center for the study of genetics and autism, the place where today the researchers who think gene copy number variations are significant in autism.Bob On Nov 28, 2007, at 12:00 AM, King wrote:Anacat, Wow, I really have to read the book now just out of curiosity! And I was not aware that the Holocaust began in that manner.
