Guest guest
Yes! We are basically experiencing the same thing as you. After 2 years of consistently fevering every 4 to 6 weeks up to 105 for 7 days straight, things appear to be getting better. The last " full blown " attack of that nature was September 2006. Since then there have been 3 more episodes at 6 week intervals (one was a 13 week interval) but they've been extremely mild, sometimes only impacting a day or two, and only getting up to about 102 or so. I've been really hoping this isn't the " winter break " I've read about on this group before. We shall see. I have no idea about the calcium thing, though my son does crave milk during an episode too. Thanks, Keri Gerber Mom to , likely according to our ID specialist, 3 1/2 years old Austin, TX
Guest guest
Keri & , Our son Blake started fevering just after he turned 2, we went rounds with the pediatrician and eventually were hospitalized and saw a specialist before we were diagnosed with . After being on cimetidine for a year we elected to stop this treatment hoping the fevers would end and they did. We are not sure if Blake outgrew his fevers or if the cimetidine really worked or if it was a combination of the two. We are thrilled and knock on wood that Blake has not fevered in over a year. Guest guest
That IS great to hear. My son started his fevers when he turned 2 and is almost 4 now. He hasn't had a fever in six weeks. I am hoping that it is coming to an end, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much. Guest guest
My daughter is 9 now and has not had her consitent fevers since 2004. She had only 1 in 2005 and we have been fever-free since. So I'm praying and hoping that yes a person can grow out of it. Ms Gillian Sano-Giles <sanogiles@...> wrote: That IS great to hear. My son started his fevers when he turned 2 and is almost 4 now. Guest guest
I only wish you the very best. My daughter did have one episode in 2005, probably after a year of nothing. But- it went away right after predisone. Do you keep the predisone on hand just in case?
